What I work with, and what I don’t.
You don’t have to be able to describe the problem, or know exactly what you need. You can come with the fact that you can’t put words to it yet.
You don’t have to be able to describe the problem, or know exactly what you need. You can come with the fact that you can’t put words to it yet.
These are the things people come with most often. Yours doesn’t have to be on the list.
A relationship is falling apart, or has just ended, and you don’t know how to steady yourself in it.
Something broke at work. Burnout, a conflict, being let go, or simply not being able to function there any more.
You have stopped trusting yourself. What used to come easily suddenly doesn’t.
A decision you have been carrying for months. Leaving, staying, starting, ending.
Anxiety you have quietly decided is not serious enough to bother anyone with.
This is here so you don’t find out in session three.
What I offer is psychological counselling rather than psychotherapy. In practice that means we work with what is going on in your life now, rather than reconstructing your childhood, and most people work with me for a few months. I am in psychotherapy training at the PCA Institute and in supervision throughout.
I am not the right person if what you are dealing with needs psychiatric care or a specialised programme. That includes active addiction, psychotic illness, severe OCD, severe eating disorders, and thoughts of ending your life.
This is not about whether you deserve help. It is that this would be the wrong kind of help for you, and I would rather say that now than take your money for six months. If that is where you are, write to me anyway and I will point you somewhere that fits.
If you need help today, in the Czech Republic: 155 for an ambulance, 116 123 for the crisis line, free and around the clock, in Czech and in English. Online counselling is not suitable for an acute crisis.
If you recognised yourself in any of that, there is usually a slot within the week.
